Clifton’s Christmas celebrations this Saturday
Markets, food stalls and kids’ activities: there’s heaps happening from 8am this Saturday, 9 December on King Street.
Those who haven’t ticked off all the boxes on their Christmas gift lists will have plenty of opportunity to do so as there will be over 50 market stalls.
King Street will be closed to traffic, allowing the stalls to be closer together and providing a safe environment.
Christmas celebrations begin at 9am when Santa arrives at the Real Estate office with his trusty elf, handing out Christmas gifts for the little ones.
Children can receive their gift from 9 till 10am then 10.30 till 11.30.
These presents have been partly financed from the Progress Association’s sale of The Clifton Cook Books and the Clifton Lions Club.
Rides for children on the Giant Slide will be free but don’t forget to bring a towel.
Food stalls will be in abundance with yummy spuds, donuts, fairy floss, Snow cones and a very tasty sausage sizzle BBQ run by the Clifton Historical Society.
Coffee and juice vans will also supply vital refreshments.
Live music by popular artist Rachel Smith and numerous raffles including hams supplied by Cefn and a meat tray by Gillies Meats.
Market stalls will be open from 8am until 1pm with lots of Christmas crafts and stocking fillers.
New this year will be U Beaut leather goods who will have kangaroo hide stock whips and bull whips.
The Downs Explorer train will arrive around 9.30 with a one hour stopover before departing for Toowoomba.
Whatever you need for Christmas festivities or gifts you will find from one of the many stalls.
Supporting one of the many raffles run by the various service organisations in Clifton is a good way of supporting your town and joining in the spirit of Christmas.
