Like many people with a learning disability, William has had to battle hard and develop a strong personal resilience in order to achieve a positive self image.

William is most comfortable and effective  expressing his thoughts and feelings through his art.

The theme for the exhibition “Opening Doors” is William’s message through his art that in life people need to find a way to overcome the negative influences in life and as he says “move on”.

A simple but important way of dealing with adversity.

For such a young man William’s art reflects his deep thoughtful approach to life but is ultimately an expression of overcoming adversity.

William grew up in Toowoomba and Clifton and now lives in Brisbane where he is in his final year at Alexandra Hills State High School.

Next year he will begin a course in Visual Arts with the hope of eventually gaining a traineeship to become a Creative Director after completion of at least five years of  a traineeship.

William Headley is a young artist with the ability and objective of expressing difficult and at time troubling   issues that many people
may find helpful in their battle with life’s disappointments.

All of William’s art work in the exhibition is for sale with one having been already sold.

William has an instagram account: h.o.w.h.a.
