Clifton Cemetery fully operational
Concern around town that burial services have been unable to be performed at Clifton Cemetery has been clarified by Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC).

TRC Environment and Community Portfolio Chair Cr James O’Shea said TRC works with funeral service providers on courteous and respectful arrangements to farewell loved ones including burials at Council-managed cemeteries.
“TRC manages 27 cemeteries across the region, including Clifton,” Cr O’Shea said.
“Due to the geographic location of sites, and the availability of contractors, on rare occasions Council’s cemetery team are required to limit the number of burials on a given day to ensure we can adequately perform burial services safely and to a high standard.
“TRC takes funeral bookings on a first-in basis and is unable to control the demand on our services in any given week.
“A recent example of this occurred at Clifton where TRC worked with a funeral service provider to accommodate an alternate date for a family burial due to existing burial bookings on that day.”
TRC also operates the cemeteries at Back Plains, Nobby and Greenmount.
