Clifton area without power after car strikes pole
Over 2,000 properties including the townships of Clifton, Nobby and Greenmount are without power for an unknown period of time after a vehicle hit a power pole on the New England Highway.

A sedan travelling southbound exited the roadway and struck the pole hole after 1pm, immediately to the south of the intersection with Gatton Clifton Road and Saal Road.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said paramedics transported a female patient in a stable condition to Toowoomba Hospital.
Power is unlikely to be restored for some time as fire crews work to control fires that were sparked in the grass alongside the road.
Traffic control is in place as smoke bellows across the road. Motorists should avoid the area.
