Chelsea’s rugby league dream becoming reality

Earlier this year The Clifton Courier ran an article on a young Clifton High School student dreaming of higher honours in her football career and now Chelsea Middleton can see the dream becoming reality after representative selection.

Chelsea was excited when she was selected in the Under 19s Western Clydesdales Girls’ side earlier in the year.

The Year 11 student obviously impressed selectors as she has now been selected in the Western Clydesdales Under 18 year team despite being only 16 years of age.

However, even higher representative honours have just been announced as Chelsea has been selected by State of Origin Womens’ head coach Tahnee Norris, as a member of the Queensland Country Women’s Under 19 Years team.

This sudden rise to representative honours comes as a result of hard work on Chelsea’s part and the complete support of her family.

Currently Chelsea is training every day in her football dominated life.

She is a staunch Broncos supporter and no doubt would love to be selected one day in a Broncos NRLW team.

Meanwhile Chelsea has good role models - she looks up to in Ali Brigginshaw and Millie Boyle both State of Origin representatives.

The Queensland Country Under 19 Women’s team will play the Queensland City Under 19 team this Saturday 23rd September at the Logan Metro Sports Complex and all of Clifton wishes her the best of luck.
