BREAKING: Fatal traffic crash, Millmerran Downs
It is believed two people have died and others are in a critical condition following a serious head-on collision between a truck and car on the Gore Highway near Nine Mile Road at Millmerran Downs this morning.
Emergency services received a call about the crash at approximately 7:20am and two fire crews, eight police units and a number of paramedics and critical care units attended the scene.
Two rescue helicopters were also called to the crash site.
A male toddler with a head injury and a male child with head and abdominal injuries were both airlifted to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane in a critical condition.
A male in his 30s with lower limb, pelvic and abdominal injuries was transported to Toowoomba Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The male truck driver was also transported to Toowoomba Hospital via ambulance with a wrist injury.
Paramedics assessed a further two patients on scene for critical injuries but it is believed the woman and infant have since passed away.
The Gore Highway is currently closed and diversions are in place via Moffatt Road and Ayers Rock Road.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible.
