A twelve-women Oakey side was reduced to ten on Saturday and still almost got the job done against Souths.

Coach Cameron Donald-son said he was proud of his side’s performance

“Started with twelve players, and were down to ten for twenty minutes at the end,” he said.

“It was really, really good, considering we had a few injuries and work commitments.

“We were across the line five times, four tries disallowed.

“We ran hard but just didn’t have the legs.

“Anna Collins, Kia Tayley Min Flinders, and Kay Wakefield were my best.

“Next is Newtown, they’ve had the same issues - inconsistency with injuries.”

Souths: 6 (Lucy Trimmer try Kiara Norris goal)

Oakey: 6 (Annastasia Salote-Collins try Sabina McLoughlin goal)
