Bowenville reads with the nation
Bowenville State School recently took part in the national Simultaneous Storytime event.

Together the students of the school gathered in-class to watch the broadcast at 11am.
The Bowenville kids also created their own sloths.
Over two million primary school students across Australia participated in the event, which was live-streamed online.
This year’s story The Speedy Sloth was read out by author Rebecca Young in front of a live audience at the Sydney Zoo.
Illustrator Heath McKenzie gave the students a tutorial on how to draw one of the sloths in the book.
The book centres around a sloth named Spike who loves to run around fast.
Spike goes on an adventure in the rainforest, challenging other animals to a race.
She doesn’t achieve her initial goals, but learns some important lessons about life along the way.
National Simultaneous Storytime began in 2000 by is organised by the Australian Library and Information Association.
The event has included iconic Australian children’s book authors such as Mem Fox and Jackie French.
