Bowenville has their sights set on Ekka glory

After COVID-19 prevented them from showcasing their skills last year, the talented Bowenville State School students alongside teacher Fallon Wise are hard at work perfecting their cheese making abilities ready to enter their products in the Ekka next month.

The students will be entering blue cheese and camembert products into the Student Made Cheese competition at the Ekka.

The primary aged students will compete against schools from across the district including some high schools.

With blue cheeses, named ‘Bowen Blue’ and ‘Bluey’, and camembert, titled ‘Bert’ and ‘Creamy’, the Bowenville team hopes to top its third place in 2018 and match the success of fellow student Jimmy Finch who took home a first with his 171kg pumpkin earlier this year.
