Big fight night bringing cowboys to town
Pittsworth boxer Jackson "Stoneliegh" Griffiths will have his biggest fight defending his Australasian welterweight title on July 15.

Promoter Brendan Smith says it will be the biggest night Pittsworth has seen with some top fights lined up. ‘The Pride of Pittsworth’ will fight the well known Hunter Ioane from Melbourne. “Jackson is moving up the ladder and this will be his biggest and most dangerous fight,” Smith said. “Ioane is heavy handed in both hands and he has a good knockout record. “Jackson always gives 150 per cent and he needs to be right on his game for this fight. “He’s going to have to be ready for explosiveness right from the opening bell. “Hunter will come out loading the bombs right from the start.” Smith said there are some big names coming to fight on the night including twenty top bull riders from around the country for a Corporate Cowboy battle. “The cowboys are coming to town. “We’ve had 20 big name bull riders nominate to fight including Troy Dunn, the only Australian to win a PBR World Championship in America. “They’re coming from Normanton, Cloncurry, Blackall...” Pittsworth Danes A Grader Jed “Two Guns” Garrett will step into the ring to fight Dennis Reynolds. Tickets have just gone on sale via Eventbrite for the Pittsworth fight night on July 15 in the Pittsworth Town Hall. Jackson has won nine of nine fights and claimed the Australasian welterweight title after defeating Faavesi Isaako in March.
