Big Day in Goomburra Valley

Organisers were impressed when hundreds of people rolled up for the 115th anniversary celebrations of the Goomburra Town Hall.

There was a big crowd there from the start and patronage flowed throughout the day.

A range of market stalls was on site and the day’s entertainment included children’s games and performances by the Warwick City Band and the Dalrymple Bush Band.

The unearthing of two time capsules created some interest.

One had been buried during the Australian Bicentennial celebrations in 1988, the other during the centenary celebrations for the hall in 2006.

Later in the day, there was a burying of another time capsule.

Another feature which captured the attention of the crowd was the burning of 45 brands from the Goomburra Valley onto a branding board to be displayed at the hall.

The day’s events were topped off by a sold-out Grand Dinner in the hall at night.
