Bange flying high
Well known local identity, Trevor Bange, was honoured to receive a certificate of appreciation from the state government last week for his service to the local community as a Justice of the Peace stretching over a fifty year period.

Member for Condamine, Pat Weir presented the award to Trevor in a small service at the Lone Eagle Flying School where Trevor is chief flying instructor.
Trevor said he first took on duties as a Justice of the Peace when he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Health Employees Credit Union in 1973.
At that stage of his life Trevor was working as a Psychiatric Nurse at the Baillie Henderson Hospital in Toowoomba.
The need for his services began to snowball when, as a member of the Jondaryan Flying Club, he needed to witness declarations and other official documents.
When he returned to the Clifton district the need for his services continued.
“Fifty years is a significant period of service to the community,” Pat Weir said.
“However, his work as a Justice of the Peace is only a small part of the overall service to the Clifton community Trevor has given over many years.
“It is this type of service that holds a community together,” Mr Weir said.
Trevor’s award goes with the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) he received on the Queen’s Birthday in 2022.
The award for Trevor was presented at the start of a busy weekend at the Lone Eagle Flying School, which hosted the annual Clifton Fly In on Sunday morning.
