Back Plains Speech Competition
Nine school were represented by 26 students at the 2024 Back Plains Speech Competition for its 20th anniversary last Friday.
The three judges join all 26 participants at Back Plains State School.
Students participated from Back Plains, Clifton, Emu Creek, Nobby, Leyburn, Greenmount, Pilton and Wyreema State Schools and St. Francis De Sales Catholic School.
The judges who attended were School Supervisor Jonathon Druce, Ms Rachel Beaman - English Teacher at Clifton State High School and Toowoomba Region Councillor Carol Taylor.
Winners:
1st Place: Annabelle - Clifton State School
2nd Place: Katherine - St. Francis De Sales
3rd Place: Sophie - St. Francis De Sales
Highly Commended x 2: Imogen and Mackenzie from Back Plains State School
