Back Plains Speech Competition
On Friday, 4th of November, speakers participated in a local district speech competition at Back Plains State school to present their speech to an audience of students and families.

Students from grades three to six had a chance to enter.
Each school had their own competition to choose their three speakers.
Twenty-three speakers in total from the surrounding schools of Nobby, Wyreema, Greenmount, Clifton, Pilton, St Frances de Sales, Leyburn, Emu Creek and Back Plains arrived at the school to begin the competition at 9.30am.
Three judges (Rita Davis, Sam Craig and Bernie Trimingham) listened to each speech and judged the presentations then chose the following winners.
1st place: Sam - Greenmount State School
2nd place: Annabelle - Clifton State School
3rd place: Georgie - Back Plains State School
Encouragement Award: Andrew - Nobby State School
The speakers enjoyed presenting their speeches.
There were many different topics which made it interesting for the audience.
