Pittsworth Auxiliary Fire Service has positions available for two new on-call firefighters.

“We’re looking for some additional firefighters to join the crew here,” Acting inspector for Toowoomba Command Kent Barron said.

Applicants need to be at least 18 years old and live and work in the area.

“It’s a casual, on-call position so any time there’s an incident in the Pittsworth community, you’ll have a pager and you’ll be notified to come to the station to respond,” Acting Insp. Barron said.

“It also involves one night a week, which is a Wednesday here, when the crew come  together and train for two hours.

“It’s a paid position so you are paid for your training and the time responding to incidents..
