Attack Of The Australian Light Horse On Beersheba
Local Allora artists Malcolm and Kerry\_Nicholson have just completed this eye-catching mural at Esk.
The brothers were Com-missioned by The Esk RSL Memorial Club to undertake the works which now adorns a south-facing wall at the Museum.
The brothers say this has probably been the most drawn out mural they have worked on, taking three months instead of about ten days. They said the delays have been due to Covid restrictions and other unanticipated factors.
However, the work is already creating a lot of interest from locals and visitors.
Malcolm Nicholson said even though a lot of research went into the subject, in the end the artists paint a mural that appeals to the public and will encourage visitors to the Museum.
In addition to the main artwork, a few additional images have been created, such as the base shield with a young soldier and his horse, as well as a hat and bridle to the side of the mural.
The Esk RSL Museum will place a garden bed and a plaque mounted on a stone block in front of the mural to identify the artists - Nicholson Art Company.
