Another Award for Matthew Denny
The 2024 Athletics Australia Awards have been presented to the top performers of last year.

Among the winners was Matthew Denny who received the John Landy Award for Male Able Bodied Athlete of the Year after breaking the Australian record twice and capping his year with Olympic bronze.
This is the second consecutive year that Matthew has won the Able Bodied award.
It’s another busy year for Matthew with the next meet being the 2025 Adelaide Invitational to be held at SA Athletics Stadium on February 15.
Matthew will return to the site of his Australian discus throw title in April, where he threw a then national record of 69.35m, but he will be eager to land back on top the winner’s list at the Adelaide Invitational having gone down to New Zealand’s Connor Bell in 2024.
“There’s nothing like the atmosphere in Adelaide, and I’m keen to get out there, have fun and get the crowd clapping again,” Denny said.
