Retiring President Joan Wylde presented her report saying that despite the difficulties confronting us for a second year of Covid restrictions, we managed to conduct a very active year. Our highlight for 2021 was our grand exhibition titled Seasons of the Southern Downs, held in the Warwick Art Gallery, professionally presented by Karina Devine with helpers and running for the month of September.

The exhibition comprised 21 photographs contributed by 9 photographers. The A3 size photos were professionally matted by Allora’s Perry Cronin.

There was an official opening with a full attendance and covered in the local press.Member Gale Ward did an excellent job as Events Co-ordinator and Trevor Martin’s expertise with IT is the backbone in the presentation of our monthly photo competitions.

Enjoyable excursions were fewer last year but included an architectural walk around Warwick and excursion to Lake Leslie for the ‘Golden Hour’.

Future excursions are already planned for quarterly outings where members exchange practical tips and tricks, camera settings etc with one another and the many results are projected and valued at the subsequent group meeting.

Some of the year’s monthly workshops/ topics were on oil and water, picture matting, depth of field, macro photography and various other subjects members raise.

Glenda supports topics with distribution of study notes and knowledgeable members give mini lectures. Our Christmas was again enjoyed at the Railway hotel with 14 members with spouses enjoying photos from the year’s events, competitions screened.

The winner of the 2021 year perpetual trophy was Gale Ward.Joan expressed her appreciation for the support of the efficient Committee and assistants and concluded with her “best wishes to you all for a year of happy snapping together in 2022”.
