Allora to host National Kelpie Field Trial
Allora will host the National Kelpie Field Trial over three days at the Allora Showgrounds from April 23 to April 25. The last trial was hosted in 2013, with organisers hoping this event will attract huge interest from not only triallers but all those involved with working dogs.

The trial consists of a Championship competition on the Friday and a Novice competition on the Saturday. The Championship final will be held on the Sunday.
Handlers are all members of the Working Kelpie Council of Australia and the dogs competing must be registered with this organisation as well.
The course, as set in the National Kelpie Field Championship, is designed to assess the ability of Kelpies to carry out effective work under conditions simulating paddock and yard conditions. Points allocated are a maximum of 70 for fi eld work and 30 for yard work. Trophies will be awarded for various areas such as Best Cast and Lift and Draw.
Spectators are welcome but must sign in as part of COVID requirements.
A canteen provided by the Allora Show Society will be available for food and drinks during the trial.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and see some top working kelpie dogs worked by some of Australia’s best handlers.
