Allora Swim Team Shines at Country Champs 2025
Fifty-two members of the Allora Swim Club travelled to Goondiwindi on Saturday 18TH January for the Darling Downs Regional Swimming Association Country Championships.
The stats from the day speak for themselves as far as the swimming goes, with Team Allora out in full force - clocking up a whopping 151 PB swims - with many swimmers taking huge times off to set new personal bests!
The medal tally for team Allora was significant with swimmers taking home 144 medals made up of 65 GOLD, 39 SILVER & 40 BRONZE.
Congratulations to each and every swimmer on their individual achievements! There were too many outstanding moments to mention, from gutsy swims with goggles slipping off, to many swimmers challenging their comfort zones to tackle bigger distance swims to gain points for our club. A massive TEAM effort all around and you should all be so proud!
As always, a huge thank you to Coach Andrew Fidge for putting in a huge day, as well as all the parents for your help on the day to get swimmers there and dealing with blazing sun and torrential rains.
2025 COUNTRY RELAY CHAMPIONS!
A highlight of the day was the Allora Swim Club taking out gold in BOTH the Senior and Junior relays at Country Champs! A first for our club and a testament to the depth of our swimmers and the hard work and skill of our coach, Andrew Fidge.
Added to this was absolutely cracking efforts by our B and C teams to take out 3rd and 8th spot in the Juniors and 2nd and 4th in the Seniors! The podium was a sea of navy, aqua and yellow with 4 of our teams gracing the podium!
This was our 2nd consecutive year winning 12 & Under Marvyen Whittaker Sheild

8th Allora C: Jack, Katie, Mason, & Harper

All Age champions and new records will be announced later this year at the DDRSA awards dinner.
Swim Club is back this Friday 31st January, and we are looking forward to seeing everyone back at the pool.
