Allora RSL Among Grant Recipients
As part of the first round of\_the Queensland Remembers Grants Prog-ram, the Allora RSL Sub-Branch received $31,970 for upgrades. This is one of 25 projects that shared $1.5 million in funding.

Treasurer of the Allora RSL Sub-Branch Ray Saunders told The Allora Advertiser that the work to be undertaken includes stripping back and painting the RSL Hall, putting down a concrete driveway with wheel-chair access to the side verandah and finishing the sullage pit at the back of the Clubhouse.
The Queensland Rem-embers Grants are for capital works and community projects that enhance the support and services for ex-servicemen and women. This is one of 25 projects that shared $1.5 million in funding.
The program allows ex-service and not-for-profit organisations that support veterans to apply for grants of up to $50,000 for minor capital works and grants between $50,000 and $250,000 for major capital works.
And it provides com-munity grants of up to $50,000 to ex-service organisations, councils and not-for-profit organisations to create or restore memorials, avenues of honour, memorial gardens and deliver commemorative activities and events.
There is still plenty more funding available, with applications now open for another $1.5 million from the 2022 Anzac Day Trust Grants Program and the second round of the Anzac Day Trust COVID-19 Grants Program.
Online submissions close on 15 May 2022 and successful applicants will be announced in November 2022.
