Allora Grain & Milling Sold

It’s with mixed emotions that I announce the sale of Allora Grain & Milling to Jenco Feeds and Seeds as from the 4th of April 2022.

The decision was made not to rebuild because of the economic climate at present, increase prices of materials, cost of freight and the fact that no insurance company would insure us, not even the buildings on South Street and then we had an offer from Cameron owner of Jenco Feeds and Seeds to purchase us which made the decision easier.

Cameron will be continuing the Allora Grain & Milling brand with little or no changes with all staff continuing under the employment of Jenco Feeds and Seeds. I would like to wish Cameron all the best and am positive the business is in very capable hands.

The Dwan family started Dwan Grain & Milling in 1975 and I took over the operation in 1987 and the Dwan family purchased Allora Grain & Milling in 1994 from the Coker Family who started Allora Grain & Milling and had built the mill.

I have enjoyed my 42 years of service being able to work beside my wife and two of my sons (third generation) and achieve everything that I wanted until the fire of the mill 12 months ago.

I would like to thank past and present staff for the tireless work that helped to make the business what it is today. To the local community I thank you as the welcome we received when moving to Allora from Brisbane and since the fire our community has offered trucks, machinery, silos, grain on consignment and even finances towards the rebuild.

Our family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts.

Terry Dwan
