Allora Community Hall Re-Opens
After an extended period of almost two and a half years, repairs have finally been completed with the Allora Community Hall now available for use by the public.
Allora’s Hall will no longer stand idle.
Early 2023 Council received a report from Engineers on what was needed to correct major deformations of the Hall’s roof structure and walls.
That report also identified some minor structural issues including floor framing “bounce” and external stormwater drainage issues.
The floor framing was found to be adequate if packed to fully support floor members. The contract with Allstruct Pty Ltd allowed for new floor and coverings to the kitchen.
No enhancements or aesthetic issues have been made to the Hall with $400k spent on structural repairs.
Southern Downs Regional Mayor Melissa Hamilton along with Councillors travelled to Allora on Wednesday to officially open the Hall.
