The Warwick Credit Union commenced as an agency at the Pat McVeigh’s Butchery (located where Amy’s Cafe is now). This agency served Allora for 6 months with Dorothy Rubie handling all customer enquiries and doing all the work manually with not a computer in sight.

Community support was so great that on 24th October 1991 the agency turned into a small branch inside the butchery.

Dorothy Rubie’s excellent customer service lead to even more support and 30 years ago on 14th August 1992 Warwick Credit Union was able to open a branch in its own building at 66 Herbert Street, Allora.

Warwick Credit Union has a proud reputation for caring about their customers so locals will no doubt recognise some of these familiar staff members who have served in Allora over the years.

Avelyn Sparksman was an asset to the credit union from August 1992 until January 2013.

Staff fondly remember Avelyn who trained new tellers in all aspects of the business. Avelyn was very  kind, patient and a hard worker.

Caroline Ridgeway was employed from September 2006 until September 2019.

Caroline was very passionate about her work and went over and above looking after her customers.

Jill Doyle did a wonderful job manning the branch from September 2019 until Sally Gerrard was employed on 10th January 2022.

Warwick Credit Union has been the go-to bank for Allora locals for 32 years now and is proud to be the last bank in the town with a tradition that guarantees WCU will be here for years to come.

Current staff members Ian Tate and Sally Gerrard continue to offer the same helpful, efficient service that has made the Warwick Credit Union an important part of Allora.

Locals are happy to support the Warwick Credit Union ensuring they’ll always be able to pop in for all their banking needs.
