Allora Bowls

WEEK 13 - What an exciting finish to the bowls season. Do It Again were the outright winners on 22 points. Peaky Blinders and Pig Lures on 21 had to play two ends to decide the runners up. All the players came out to watch. It was great to see the skills of the teams. Peaky Blinders just pipped the Pig Lures.

The teams all enjoyed their last night on the greens. Greg was keen to check the scores after play as had the results been different there could have been a three way contest for runners up.

At least the Three Stoogers had the luck to win the weekly losers prize as compensation. Railway  were drawn as the winners. Thank you to Tony Morris Tiling the sponsor of this competition.

Sorry Gary, we ruined your chance to win a toucher. Pam, Jacqui, Kym, Bev and I were in deep conversation about the serious matter of the mystery fairy on your rink. Gary missed out but Harry, Max, Codie, John E, Jake and John C won a Paul Parker Painting chocolate block.

Codie was elevated to skip for his team, Fire Ants. Was able to capture a great shot and toucher by Codie on camera. Not sure how his team mates coped at close range as lead and second. Guess all was ok as they took their usual stools at the bar.

There was only $20 in the pool of the Allora Hardware Jackpot. It took about a dozen draws to find the winner. Thank you to Beetle and Sue for your sponsorship of Jackpot draw each week. Thank you to Aaron and Ashley of Allora Butchery, Robyn from Railway Hotel, Percy the fruit man, and the Allora Sports Club for donation of raffle prizes each week of the season. This week Kelly secured a $50 voucher from Coles as an extra prize. Thanks Kelly.

John Elwood, secretary of the Sports Club presented the winners and runners-up with their prizes. Greg responded on behalf of team mates, David and Leanne. Danny responded on behalf of his Peaky Blinder team mates Syd and John Cochrane.

Best wishes to all the Allora Sports Club bowlers for Christmas and New Year. Nominations are open for teams for next season. Reminder that annual membership of $20.00 is now due.
