2023 Passing Out Parade for Pittsworth Cadets

A crowd gathered near the oval of the high school to attend the Passing Out Parade and Awards Ceremony for the Pittsworth Cadets.

The ceremony began with the 19th Australian Army Cadets Unit parade which included the gesture of eyes right in acknowledgement of the reviewing officer Allan Petersen and his fellow RSL representatives, Mike Vogler and Mal Norris. 

Mr. Petersen, President of the Pittsworth RSL, was then asked to inspect the cadets on parade.  

He gave a brief speech of appreciation, thanking them for their duties throughout the year and highlighting the importance of their presence at the Anzac Day and Remembrance Day services.  

Mr. Petersen said that their participation in these events, “Makes our RSL bigger and stronger than ever.”

Awards were then presented to selected cadets for outstanding behaviour throughout the year. 

Faith Morgan-Gill and Alice Train received the Junior and Senior Awards, respectively.

Lachlan Marshall was given the Officer Commanding Award for Most Outstanding Cadet. 

The final award of Most Improved was given to Jack Williams who received a perpetual trophy presented by the RSL representatives.  

Gifts were given to photographer Casey Byford and to Carol McEwan for singing the national anthems at commemorative services throughout the year. 

When the formalities had ended, cadets and their families enjoyed light refreshments in the school grounds.
