Although not as busy as last year, the overall feedback from those who visited Pittsworth over the weekend was positive.

The Blooming Pittsworth event at St. Andrew’s drew a large crowd, but those on the west end of Yandilla Street, didn’t seem to have as much traffic.

The Heritage Bank team packed up their tent just before midday after a slow morning outside the police station.

The Singsationals and Black Inc. community band entertained crowds outside St. Andrew’s hall.

One particular Singsational member wrote an original piece that was debuted at Blooming Pittsworth.

The song is called Locals, and was written to the music of Royals by Lorde.

It went something a little like this:

I’ve never seen a town so picturesque, like a postcard or an old time movie, I’d be proud of this address.

I’m from out of town. I’ve got postcode envy.

But all the people like, farmers always looking when to harvest, grey skies, storms come, hurry so the yield’s best, they all care, they drive big green John Deere, but everybody’s like, business owners, chatting on the main street, customers buying, sales up this week, they all care, there’s plenty of cash to share.

I would love to be local (local), Pittsworth  born and bred, but when it’s all done and said, I’ll just visit here instead.

Let me be your tourist (tourist), you can show me what you’ve got, and baby I’ll shop (I’ll shop, I’ll shop, I’ll shop), it’s a top notch tourist spot.

We all know the arts scene’s going off, tons of musicians and artists everywhere, PATS are putting on a show, Black Inc. are playing, gallery overflowing...

Oh, oh (oh, oh), Toowoomba and Milly too, and all the towns surrounding you

Oh oh (oh, oh), Pitty’s a great place to be, come and check it out and see.

The song was written by Donna Hocroft specifically for the day.
